NIS Opened Service Centre in Georgetown

Our valued customers and beneficiaries on the Windward side of the Country no longer have to travel to Kingstown to conduct their business with the National Insurance Services (NIS).  This is consequent on the opening of the NIS Service Centre in Georgetown located in the GECCU Branch Office.  This marks another milestone in the annals of Social Security in St. Vincent and the Grenadines where the NIS leaves its footprints with its inscription “Serving Because We Care.”

The ceremony which signaled the official opening on the 20th November, 2014 was very informative, enlightening and entertaining.  Remarks were made by the Executive Director, Mr. Reginald Thomas and Mr. Elroy John, the Deputy Chairman of the National Insurance Board. The feature address was delivered by the Honorable Saboto Caesar, the Minister of Agriculture, et. al .  He ably represented the Prime Minister with the responsibility for Social Security, the Honorable Dr. Ralph Gonzalves who was unable to attend because of another engagement.

The NIS Heritage Groovers entertained the guests and had them asking for more with its lively and spirited performance.

The Service Centre would be in operations the first and last Wednesday in each month from 9:00 a.m to 3 p.m.  All the services available at the Kingstown Office could also be accessed at this Centre. A similar Centre will be officially opened in Bequia on the 8th December, 2014.
